Community Involvement

The Southern Ohio Association of REALTORS® is actively involved in the communities within Adams, Brown, Clermont, Butler, Warren, Hamilton and Highland Counties in Ohio. As an Association, our members volunteer their time to help make the places we live, work and worship a better place. We participate in several different events throughout the year, including the Annual Spring Litter Cleanup, as well as donating proceeds from our “Happy Hour For a Cause” events to different charitable organizations. We continue to look for ways to give back to our communities and strive to be the change we wish to see in the world.

The Southern Ohio Association of REALTORS® also offers several scholarships throughout the year.

The first is available to individuals who are taking courses in pursuit of licensing or designations for real estate or any other ancillary home services. Some examples of courses that this scholarship could be used for are: pre-licensing courses, required post-licensure courses, G.R.I. or A.B.R. designations for licensed REALTORS®, A.S.H.I designation for inspectors, courses for appraisers. Applicants must be either a SOAR primary, secondary or affiliate member in good standing, or be sponsored by a SOAR member in good standing. Scholarship must be applied for PRIOR to course completion. We award these scholarships twice a year with a maximum award of $500.

The Scholarship is named in honor of one of our most beloved members, Gloria Chase. Gloria Chase was a past SOAR President, Director, dedicated committee member and all-around good friend to everyone she knew. The award recipient should embody the spirit of goodwill and commitment to their services that Gloria possessed.

Once the entry period opens for this Scholarship, the application and additional details regarding qualifications and deadlines will be available for download here. For further information please contact the SOAR office at 513-528-2657 or at soar@fuse.net.

The second type of scholarship that we offer is awarded in April of each year to provide assistance to graduating high school seniors from our service areas of Clermont, Brown, Adams, Highland, Warren, Eastern Butler and Eastern Hamilton Counties for post-secondary education or career training. The graduating senior does not need to be a family member of a SOAR member. The application period for these scholarships is January 1st – March 1st of each year. The maximum award to any student is $500.
