Advocacy and Legislative (8-10 Members + DL)
Studies legislation issues, at the local, state, and federal levels, that affect property owners. Advocates for local, state, and federal policy initiatives that strengthen the ability of Americans to own, buy and sell real estate.
Meets approximately 4 to 6 times per year.
Affiliate Committee (4-5 members + 1 Director)
The committee allows our affiliates to have a voice and creates programs to strengthen our REALTORS® and Affiliate member relationships.
Meets quarterly
Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (4-5 Members + DL)
Coordinates monthly social media and Newsletter material to SOAR to increase diversity within the real estate profession. Work with Professional Development to identify diversity and fair housing educational needs and goals as well as addresses changes in real estate business practice to reflect growing cultural diversity.

Elite Club/Awards & Scholarships (12-14 Members + DL)
The Elite Club is the outstanding awards program of SOAR. This committee selects a venue for the program, chooses a menu, communicates with the production company, creates a program and script for the event, and may help with the actual ceremony the night of the event. The function of the committee shall be to oversee the administration and execution of the Elite Club awards banquet. This event is large and needs numerous committee members, but the time commitment is not extensive. Ideal for people who enjoy event planning. Reviews applications for and chooses REALTOR® and Rookie of the Year Award recipients, Gloria Chase Scholarship recipients, and High School Scholarship Award recipients.
Meets 4-6 times with e-mail communication throughout the planning period which is normally from late November through early March. 1 Plus Meets quarterly to review applications and plan for the next award offer, with e-mail correspondence between meetings.
Golf Outing Committee (5-6 Members)
Plans the annual Golf Outing for the membership. Solicits sponsors for this event
Meets approximately 4 to 6 times per year, with email correspondents as needed. (Most meetings a couple months before the outing)
Holiday Excursion (12-14 Members + DL)
Promotes and organizes a Trade Show each year to afford the affiliate members the opportunity to meet and establish a working relationship with the REALTOR members of the Association. This committee always has a lot of fun. The trade fair has a new theme each year that the affiliates and members get excited about by dressing up and decorating their booths in the style of the theme. There are lots of prizes for members at this event.
Meets approximately 6 to 8 times per year.
Membership (5-6 Members + DL)
This committee helps stay in touch with both the agent and affiliate membership. This committee comes up with ideas to show value to both agent and affiliate members and provides ways to communicate these ideas to the membership. This committee’s main task is to increase membership recruitment and promote retention. This committee also facilitates new member orientations which should be held twice a month.
Meets every other month, or as needed to facilitate events.
Professional Development (4-5 Members + DL)
Promotes and prepares continuing education classes for the SOAR membership. The goal for this committee is to have (at least) 12 different class offerings per year. This committee stays informed on educational needs for agents.
Meets every other month to arrange course offerings and solidify sponsors if needed.
REALTOR® Political Action Committee (RPAC) (8-10 Members + DL)
Helps members understand the importance of contributing to, and supporting issues and legislators who support the real estate industry. The most tangible function of this committee is the RPAC auction, to raise funds to be donated to RPAC. Plus at least one other event per year.
Meets approximately 6 times per year.
Social & Community Outreach (12-14 Members + DL)
Plans social and appreciation events for membership quarterly. The committee plans (at least) one event per quarter. (Not just Happy Hours)
Meets 1-2 times per event, plus online/virtual meetings, and email correspondence.

Young Professional Network (YPN) (6-8 Members + DL)
The Young Professionals Network (YPN) helps young real estate practitioners become more business savvy by hosting regular networking events, communicating with other YPN members, and sharing tips and tricks. It helps newer members learn tools to be leaders in the industry, in the local, state, and national associations, and offers a sounding board for industry-related issues.
Host quarterly community events
Meets every other month to plan events with email correspondence between meetings.
